•Fractal Force + special guests
•Silk Drop
•Heather Christie (Cheraki)
•Liquid Love Drops
Fractal Force:
The new project of electronic producer & jazz instrumentalist Ilan Gleiser (Fractal Force). Fractal Force honors the tradition of UK's Massive Attack, Geode and Phaeleh. Joined by special guest vocalists & accompaniment for this set, Fractal Force will debut its premiere album, 'Source'. Hypnotic beats with a jazz edge.
Silk Drop:
Also debuting the bay area stage will be collaborative project of Isaac Cotec (Subaqueous) and Heather Christie (Cheraki). Silk Drop has enjoyed a successful release of their recent debut EP 'Traces', (August 2016). Silk Drop fuses delectable beats with vulnerable female vocals and live strings. The result is a genre-bending sound steeped in an undeniable viscerality. The Silk Drop sound can be likened to Polica, Galimatius and Glass Animals. Silk Drop will close the night with their lush indietronica.
Heather Christie (Cheraki):
Known as Cheraki, this singer has worked with electronic producers The Human Experience, Saqi, Subaqueous, Sol Rising, and others; and sings in bands Feral Fauna, Sirens of Soul and SIlk Drop. Heather will offer a live-tronica performance of original music, along with live musical accompaniment. Deemed a 'vocal tour de force', Heather conjurs comparisons to singers like Erykah Badou, Sia, and Morcheeba, with a style that is uniquely hers. Playing soon-to-be-released fresh tracks, this singer dives into pop and R&B with a soul-flushed danceable twist.
Liquid Love Drops:
An exploration of hypnotic and enchanting sounds and entrancing patterns.
As a dj Jocelyn has been shakin' booties across the bay and beyond, Jocelyn's vibrant personality, dj skills as a sound track selectress combined with a few of her own ear worm bass heavy mixes and her high energy show that captures your attention and traps you on ...read more

Fishbone w/ The Tahoes

Fishbone w/ The Tahoes on November 5, 2016 in Petaluma, CA : Celebrating 25+ groundbreaking years, FISHBONE has been trailblazing their way through the history of American Ska, Funk, Punk, Rock Fusion and (so-ca lled) Black Rock since starting their professional career in Los Angeles' burgeoning, Alternative Rock music scene of the mid-1980s. Their sound has often been imitated, but never duplicated. They have toured worldwide with such bands as the Beastie Boys, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Roots, Les Claypool/Primus, Fela Kuti, George Clinton, The Dead Kennedys and many more. Angelo Moore's ability to combine thought-provoking, humorous social commentary with FISHBONE's frenzied, up-tempo music and frantic, euphorically entertaining stage show has cultivated their undisputed reputation as one of the best live acts in music history.
THE TAHOES ARE HELLA NORCAL. AND THEY LIKE IT THAT WAY.
For the past 4 years The Tahoes have traversed Northern California, from San Jose to Mendocino, bringing their unique brand of reggae-rock to hella stoked audiences everywhere. Comprised of former members of The Conspiracy, Biting The Dog, and Fallout, The Tahoes' fun-filled sets of skanktastic grooves are roughly 70/40 originals/covers. (That's 110% percent!) Having recently played in front of thousands at the Sonoma County Fair and the Booneville Beer Festival, The Tahoes bring the energy with original hits like I Need You, Sparkle On, 4:20 and the crowd's favorite anthem, Hella NorCal.

Echoes of Light with Thomas Hübl

Echoes of Light with Thomas Hübl on December 8, 2016 in Oakland, CA : Echoes of Light: A Toning Concert with Thomas Hübl
with keyboard accompaniment by Myrissa Lai
Join us for an immersion in sound and light as Thomas Hü bl transmits a beautiful sonic field with Myrissa Lai's sensitive keyboard accompaniment, while the the universe unfolds above you in all its grandeur in the Chabot Planetarium.
Thomas Hübl's toning draws you deeply into a state of space, presence, and connection. It creates a field that opens the potential for healing. You experience your individuality synchronizing and co-creating in the powerful collective sound space while enhancing your own inner alignment. Thomas describes Toning as both an individual and collective experience:
"A Toning creates a beautiful sound space in which from each individual's sound a collective composition is orchestrated. This means that individuality is expressed and a larger context emerges too. The individuality begins to synchronize itself with a larger context in such a way that everyone stays within his or her own inner alignment while also making a contribution to the whole. In the space of consciousness which we are, individuality gives way to a larger shared We, while each sound remains really important. The result is that in our consciousness, internally, a much larger space is created: a conscious space of mindfulness or wakefulness.
This will be Thomas's third toning concert at the Chabot Planetarium, and we expect it will be just as profound and moving as the previous two. This event will sell out quickly, so please be sure to buy your tickets in advance.
Tickets:
Advance purchase: $42 (Online ticket sales end at 12:00pm PT on Dec. 8)
At-the-door: $48 (Cash only)
