YOGA FOR PEACE WITH SHIVA REA on September 25, 2016 in Washington, DC : Yoga on the Mall and The Global Mala Project are uniting yogis around the world with the Yoga for Peace gathering, led by world-renowned yoga teacher and activist Shiva Rea, and livestreamed worldwide, exclusively on Yoga Download, on September 25. Bridging communities from every continent, yoga school and style, the event offers a collective moving meditation in honor of the United Nations' International Day of Peace, based upon the 108 Sun Salutations.
To bring global awareness, Yoga Download will broadcast the event live from the historic National Mall in Washington, DC, encouraging the yoga community to join the movement from any part of the world - whether at home, outside or a local studio. Participants are also encouraged to share their experience by using the hashtag #GoYourOmWay with a photo of how they have taken their yoga practice outside of the studio, building a routine that works best for them.

Recognize, release and surrender on October 4, 2016 in Berkeley, CA : What are you holding onto that no longer serves you?
This is the first class of the series (four classes total), where you learn simple practices usi ng qigong, breath, deep listening, vibration of your own voice and story telling to recognize and release old patterns that no longer serve you. We end the evening on a sound sanctuary surrendering to the soothing sounds of singing bowls, drums, chimes, and tuning forks.
In this first class we explore ways to recognize our body, how it acts when we are stressed out and learn to be aware of these signes.
Everyone is welcome! No previous meditation or singing experience required. We will meet once a week on Tuesdays for 4 weeks. You can join us for the full series or any of the classes separately.
